Playground Rules
Children using the outdoor playground must obey the playground safety rules. The following simple rules will make playtime fun and frolic:
- Children must stay within the gates at all times.
- Swing may be used while seated only. Walk around the frame while swing is in use.
- Slide one at a time in sitting position, facing forward, and feet first.
- Pebbles belong on the ground inside the wood frame only.
- Parents are in charge to enforce playground rules and are responsible for the supervision of their children before and after school hours.
School’s responsibility for supervision alleviates after student pick-up by a parent or guardian.
Emergency School Closing
Emergency closings due to weather, broken pipes, etc., will be announced on the following Television channels; KOMU, and Also, tune in to these radio stations KBIA, KFRU. ISC-M usually follows Columbia Public Schools with regards to snow days.
Safety
Please bring your child into the building and remain with your child until the teacher sees both of you.
When you leave with your child, please be certain that the teacher is aware of your departure.
Children need to remain inside the classroom or with the teacher outside or as directed during pick up times. Parents must personally accompany their child to the vehicle. Children are not allowed to walk alone to their car.
Notify the School in advance if another person will pick up your child after school. If we do not know this person, we will ask for identification and await confirmation prior to releasing the child.
Please be aware of and keep track of your arrangements with other parents who share drop off and pick up responsibilities with you.
